This month's poetic form is the diamante. We're writing about either the great outdoors, or emotions. Hmmm...
Sun
Warmth, heat
Burning, shining, beating
Life's light, life's fuel
Soaking, drenching, filling
Wet, soft
Rain
Cat
Power, stealth
Stalking, creeping, pouncing
The predator, the prey
Running, hiding, dying
Tiny, dead
Mouse
Warmth, heat
Burning, shining, beating
Life's light, life's fuel
Soaking, drenching, filling
Wet, soft
Rain
Cat
Power, stealth
Stalking, creeping, pouncing
The predator, the prey
Running, hiding, dying
Tiny, dead
Mouse
(that was in honor of the "gift" my kitty brought me yesterday)
that is just toooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
Those were great. The sun and rain one is cool.
ReplyDeleteLOL cute. I've had a cat that brought back a little present before too LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog :D
Your first is so lovely...the second cracked me up! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteJana, these were very good. I really like them. Very creative. Sorry you had to deal with your little "mouse surprise" from the cat:)
ReplyDeleteA delightful diamante, in two very different parts.
ReplyDeleteAh, those are both so great. I loved the phrases you used on the fourth line of each poem...
ReplyDeleteI loved the kitty one. Poor little mouse - not! Yay, kitty!
ReplyDeletedon't cha love that. my grannies cat used to leave them on the kitchen floor for her to find in the morning.
ReplyDeleteYaaaaaaaaeee~TWO entries this time!
ReplyDeleteYour first reminds me that I can like opposites--I love the sun, I love the rain...and I'm thankful for both. You've chosen words that describe each well, giving me reason to pause and enjoy the thoughts.
And your second? Hehe...LOVELOVELOVE it! Stealthy kitties...predator/prey. Just perfect! Wonder if the cat or the mouse would appreciate being "honored" in verse? Well, at least "we" can appreciate it!
Thanks, Jana! I always enjoy your poems each time :).
