What the dr. said...

My surgery is scheduled for June 27. The doctor said usually by the time someone is having as severe symptoms as I described, the only thing to do is remove the gall bladder. He told me to take two weeks off of work, to which I responded, "If only I could!"

This is an outpatient procedure, so I'll be home that night. I'm supposed to stay in bed for the first week. He said I will feel more like getting up the second week, and that's fine, but I will have very little energy and won't be able to do much.

I also have to eat a no-fat diet for a few days, until my liver figures out it supposed to take over the gall bladder's function of digesting fats.

Never fear, though - I will take my computer to bed with me and stay in touch!

Gotta run (read to the end)

I went to the doctor yesterday. I haven't had a physical in a while, not since I lost all this weight. The doc was quite impressed. In fact, he asked if I'd used any pills or supplements to lose that much. No, I replied, it was just changing what I eat and how much of it I eat. And exercise, but that came pretty much after all the weight was gone.

Anyway, he gave me a new scrip for migraines, so hopefully I can knock them out before they start. And now I have a nose spray to clear up my sinuses, so that should help the chronic sinus headaches I've been having lately.

I need to get some blood drawn sometime to check my cholesterol levels, etc.

Ugh - the five year old just walked by with poop in his pants. This is going to be a fun day, isn't it?

More tomorrow

I have so many things I want to write about, and really no time to do it. I had a doctor's appt. this morning and it just threw off my whole day. I'm fine, by the way. Just a recurrent bladder infection that's now gone. I had some blood drawn, too. That's always fun. I usually get all woozy and start to fall over, but I was okay this morning. I think I was too annoyed at how long I had to wait to get too woozy. Half an hour, just to get into the lab to get blood drawn? Add that to the half hour I waited to see the doctor, and I was really wishing I'd remembered that book I left sitting by the back door.

Well, I'm going to have some good stories, pictures, anecdotes and whatnot this week, so make sure you come back. Now I have to go do school.

Enjoy your $20 sticker

I just got back from the pediatrician, who didn't have any appointments until today. I paid a $20 copay to find out that there's nothing wrong with the baby at all. But not to worry, the doctor was coughing and sneezing all over the place, so we're bound to actually be sick sometime soon.

At least the kids got stickers when we checked out.

The baby's 6 month stats

My little guy weighed in at 19 lbs and is now 27 1/2 inches! Where did my little baby go? I'll try and get some pictures of him after he wakes up from his nap.

And in good news, the doctor said since the baby has been off the Zantac for 2 weeks and doesn't spit up a lot (hardly at all, really), he doesn't need it any more. Yes!
