- Sleep in. By that I mean that I get up whenever the baby gets up, instead of when Hubby is standing by the bed saying, "Do you want a shower this morning?" I don't mean that I stay in bed until 9 a.m. or anything.
- Cook seafood. Hubby just doesn't like it. All the kids love it, especially salmon. So if I have any, I usually wait until he's away before I cook it.
- Sleep with the cat. Although last night, the neighbor's cat slept in our bed (long story), normally Hubby doesn't want even our cat in the bed. But kitty loves me and wants to sleep with me, so I let him when Hubby's not here.
- Watch DVDs he doesn't enjoy as much as I do. If I put in a Lord of the Rings movie, I get much sighing and moaning. The same goes for many of the movies we have. This also applies to certain television series.
- Have trouble falling asleep. I will often stay up until 1 or 1:30 because it's just not the same without him here.

The cat's away... again
Hubby left this morning for his third trip to Wisconsin in the last four weeks. I really hate it when he has to go away. But I try to make the best of the situation. Here is my list of things I can do when he's not here that I normally wouldn't do if he were:

Yea - I kinda like it when Mr. Cheeky travels too - not that I don't want him here but its sorta like you - you can eat things he doesn't like, watch what you want, sleep in the center of the bed....stuff like that :)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby travels quite a bit too (this week he is in Memphis TN) - althought I miss him when he is gone (and am exhausted when he gets back)...there is something to say about doing whatever I want to do when the kids go to bed.
ReplyDeleteI can blog all I want and he doesn't know!!!!!
Yeah, I have my own routine for when my hubby is away also! I actually love my routine and look forward to hubby being away. But it does get lonely! and I am happy he is home again!
ReplyDeleteNope, it's never the same without them here. My kids love seafood too, but Richard does as well. I am the one that won't eat the salmon, even those it's good for my brain.
ReplyDeleteRichard loves having our pets sleep with us. Um, that wasn't very fun back when we had two bassets, let's just say that didn't last very long. lol
Hopefully by now you're sleeping alongside your man. hehe
That's great that your kids love seafood!
ReplyDeleteI make the most of these absences too, whether he's away or I'm away, neither of which has happened much lately. Maybe that's why I'm kinda cranky?! hee
It's always good to get / have 'em home though. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
