Party in Heaven!

Luke 18:15-17 (King James Version)
15And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Luke 15:10 (King James Version)
10Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Saturday night, hubby and I had the awesome privilege of leading our six year old, Joshua, to accept the gift of salvation! Join us and the angels in rejoicing!

That's fabulous! Praise Adonai!! He reveals his truth to those with open ears. May your son grow to be a man of God filled with faith, hope, and love.

  4. A six year old can't decide if he wants to be a fireman or a soldier or a doctor with any certainty, and yet you'll rejoice that he's finally given in to what you've pounded into his mind since the day he was born?

    Strange... very very strange...

  5. andy - I made this decision when I was 5, so no, I don't think it's strange at all.

  6. Andy,

Thanks for stopping by and giving your two-cents worth. I am not going to debate whether or not a six-year-old can make this decision. I just want to point out two things. Jana and her husband are doing just what any good parent does, teach their children they believe is important. I am sure you do it, so don't give her any flack for doing it, just because you happen to disagree with her.

Second, a person who becomes a Christian is not required to know everything about what that means. All they are required to understand is that they are sinners and through Jesus their sins are taken care of. As a person grows and matures they begin to understand better who God is and how they should live their lives. That requires both modeling and teaching, which I am sure Joshua will get.

  7. But Joshua can't be a Chritian in Earnest unless me makes that decision for himself, so what good does forcing him to do it when he has little or no conception of the world around him do?

  8. Foster, you are making the assumption that Joshua was forced to make a decision. Regardless of whether he was or wasn't it doesn't change the fact that a person still has a lifetime to grow in their knowledge and faith.

Each one of us have many times during our life when we examine what we believe and why. The reality is that Joshua will have many times throughout his life to confirm or deny the decision he made and it will be done by his own free will. I think we should all leave this subject alone and allow Jana and her family celebrate what they consider a joyous event. She was not looking to start a debate, but rather she wanted to share her excitement. Even if you disagree with her why can't you at least let her have that rather than trying to use it to promote your agenda?

  9. Oh PRAISE GOD from Whom all blessings flow and the joy that fills my heart is Jesus. I was saved at 6. I knew precisely what I was doing. I knew who Jesus was and I did not want to live without Him. However, I had no inkling about what it meant to dedicate my life to living for Jesus... that came later. For now, Joshua is the Lord's and the Lord will make sure he understands what he needs to understand as he is able to understand. That's a promise from Jesus! Jana, I rejoice with you and your family. And the angels are rejoicing in heaven... can't you just hear them?
